Weekend adventures in the mountains around Barcelona
About Hiking with Keep Calm Community
Looking for a hiking group in Barcelona rather than a paid tour? Keep Calm's hiking group gets you into Catalonia's mountains, coastal trails, and natural parks with other English-speaking expats, internationals and locals, free to join. Organized by Jan, our monthly hikes are planned and led by the community itself, not a professional guide, so the only cost is your own train ticket.
Hikes are typically full-day Sunday excursions, covering 10–20 km with 300–800 m of elevation over 4–6 hours. The group meets at central Barcelona locations like Arc de Triomf or Plaça Espanya, and routes are planned using Komoot. With a capacity of 25–30 hikers per trip, it's a great way to meet English-speaking expats and internationals who love the outdoors.
One of the best traditions is the shared lunch: everyone brings something to share at the summit or a scenic lookout point. It's a wonderful way to connect with people while enjoying Catalonia's incredible landscapes.
