About Languages with Keep Calm Community
Learning a language is easier, and a lot more fun, with other people around you. Keep Calm Community brings together English-speaking expats, internationals, and locals in Barcelona for free language exchange and practice, whether that means brushing up your Spanish or Catalan, helping someone else with their English, or just picking up a few words in a new language along the way.
This isn't an app matching you with a stranger for a single scheduled call, and it isn't a one-off meetup where language practice is the whole point of the evening. It's one part of a wider community of people who already know each other from padel, hiking, social nights and more, so there is no pressure to perform and nobody keeping score on your grammar. You show up, you chat, and the conversation carries you further than a phrasebook or an app ever could.
Everyone here is learning something, which levels the playing field from the start. Whether you are a complete beginner in Spanish or fluent in three languages and happy to help others practise their English, there is a place for you. The group is organised through WhatsApp, and right now we are still shaping the regular schedule, so joining early means you help decide what it looks like.
