Skateboarding โ€” Keep Calm Community Barcelona

Skateboarding in Barcelona for English Speakers

MACBA plaza makes Barcelona a legendary skate city โ€” Keep Calm doesn't organise it, but our community can help you find fellow skaters.

Worth knowing: Keep Calm doesn't organise skate sessions โ€” this page points you to Miscellaneous and the wider community, not a dedicated skateboarding group.

About Skateboarding with Keep Calm

Barcelona is one of the most famous skateboarding cities on the planet. MACBA plaza, right outside the modern art museum, is a genuine pilgrimage spot for skaters worldwide โ€” its ledges and open marble square have featured in countless skate videos for decades, and the city's mild climate, smooth plazas and street spots make it a natural draw for skaters year-round.

Keep Calm doesn't run a dedicated skateboarding group or organise sessions, though. Across our roughly 20 activity groups โ€” spanning padel to climbing โ€” skating isn't one we've set up. If you're after organised lessons or a skate team, this isn't the place; the city's well-known skate spots and any local skate shops are a better lead.

What we do have is Keep Calm Miscellaneous, our catch-all WhatsApp group for interests without their own dedicated group yet, including skating meetups people arrange themselves. It's also genuinely how new dedicated groups have started before, so if enough skaters show up there, who knows.

Keep Calm's other groups โ€” biking, climbing, social nights โ€” are a good way to meet people in Barcelona while you find your skate crew.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Keep Calm have a dedicated skateboarding group?

No. We run about 20 activity groups but skateboarding isn't one of them โ€” this page is here because people search for it, and we'd rather say so plainly.

Is Barcelona actually good for skateboarding?

Genuinely, yes. MACBA plaza is one of the most famous street-skating spots in the world, and the city's climate and plazas make it a popular destination for skaters year-round.

Where can I meet other skaters?

Post in Keep Calm Miscellaneous, or simply head to a well-known spot like MACBA โ€” Barcelona's skate scene is active and visible enough that you'll find people there.

Could Keep Calm start a skate group eventually?

Possibly. Most of our groups exist because enough people asked in Miscellaneous first โ€” if that happens with skating, it could become its own group.
