Our Tenets

Being part of Keep Calm, whether joining a session or running one, means living by a few simple principles.

As a Member

  1. 1.

Reliable - Show up if you commit, give notice if you can't.

  2. 2.

Inclusive - Welcome newcomers, be patient with every skill level.

  3. 3.

Respectful - Assume good intentions, listen, build people up.

  4. 4.

Here for fun, not ego - Community over competition or drama.

  5. 5.

Non-commercial spirit - The group isn't a marketplace - leave promotion out of it.

As an Organiser

All of the above, plus:

  1. 1.

Volunteer, not staff - No pay, no exemption from the rules, just genuine care for your sport.

  2. 2.

Consistent - Your sport is covered most weeks, with your fellow organisers.

  3. 3.

Responsive - Answer WhatsApp when you can, especially near event day.

  4. 4.

Fair under pressure - Hear all sides, don't pre-judge, act proportionately.

  5. 5.

Team player - Respect fellow organisers' and admins' calls, even ones you'd have made differently.

  6. 6.

Hands off smoothly - The community belongs to everyone, not any one organiser.

Where This Comes From

These tenets come straight from what we're trying to build.
