Open to everyone, 18+
Mixed Americana padel. A new partner every round.
About once a month we run a padel Americana in Barcelona that is open to everyone: short rounds, a new partner each time and a relaxed, friendly crowd. All levels are welcome, you do not need a partner, and everything is in English.

All levels welcome
Complete beginners and experienced players all play together, and within a few rounds you end up on a court at roughly your own level. Open to everyone aged 18 and over.
A new partner every round
Short rounds and a new partner each time, so you play with lots of different people and get far more court time than a normal match.
Friendly and in English
Relaxed, welcoming and run in English. No partner needed, so come on your own and you will know people by the end.
How it works
- STEP 1
Sign up on the form
Fill in the short Google Form for the next edition. This is your place in the queue, and places are given first come, first served.
- STEP 2
Confirm on Playtomic
We then email you a Playtomic link to join and pay. Your place is confirmed once you have paid. Nothing in your inbox? Check your spam folder.
- STEP 3
Play
Arrive a little early for the welcome and court assignments, warm up, then play for about two hours in short rounds.
- STEP 4
Stay for a drink
Most people head to Caña + Tapa round the corner afterwards for a drink and some tapas. It is optional, but it is where the friendships start.
The Americana format
An Americana is a mini-tournament built for meeting people. It is not a serious competition, and a bumpy first round sorts itself out fast.
- About two hours of padel, in rounds of about 15 minutes.
- Both winners from a court move up a court, towards Court 1, and play each other there.
- Both losers move down a court and play each other there.
- Winners on Court 1 and losers on the last court stay where they are.
- Everyone gets a new partner every round, so the courts sort themselves out within a few rounds.
- A game that reaches deuce is decided by one golden point, which keeps the rounds quick.
What's included
- About two hours of organised padel
- A new partner and new opponents every round
- A friendly, mixed group of players from all levels
- A ball to take home
It costs about EUR 8 including Playtomic fees. Joining Keep Calm is always free.
What to bring
- A padel racket if you have one. The venue has rackets to rent, so tell us in the WhatsApp group beforehand if you need one
- Sports clothes and sports or padel shoes
- Water, more than you think you need

Who is the Mixed Americana for?
Everyone. It is open to all genders and all levels, and like every Keep Calm event it is for adults aged 18 and over. We also run a women-only edition, the Women's Americana.
Do I need to be good at padel?
No. All levels are welcome. The rounds are short and friendly, you get a new partner each time, and the rotation settles you onto a court suited to you within a few rounds. If you have never held a racket, our absolute beginners padel sessions are a gentle way to start.
Do I need a partner?
No. You get a new partner every round, so come on your own. If you sign up with a friend you may not start on the same court, but you will very likely end up playing together at some point.
Is it competitive?
No. There are no prizes and no results announcement. The point is to play with lots of different people and have fun.
How much does it cost?
About EUR 8 per player including Playtomic fees, paid when you confirm your place on Playtomic. Joining Keep Calm is always free.
How do I sign up?
In two steps. First fill in the Google Form, which sets the first-come order. Then we email you a Playtomic link to join and pay, and your place is confirmed once you have paid. Check your spam folder if the email does not arrive.
Is there a waitlist?
No. When the Playtomic event is full, it is full. If you miss out, keep an eye on the event, because a place can open up if someone cancels.
What if I sign up and then cannot make it?
Cancel on Playtomic as early as you can so someone else can take your place. Please only sign up if you are sure you can come.
What happens afterwards?
There is usually an optional drink and some tapas at Caña + Tapa, just round the corner from the courts. You are very welcome to join, and equally welcome to head home.
