Rock Climbing โ€” Keep Calm Community Barcelona

English-Speaking Rock Climbing in Barcelona

Bouldering walls in the city, real rock in the crags outside it โ€” one group, no gear required to start.

About Rock Climbing with Keep Calm

Keep Calm Climbing brings together English-speaking expats, internationals and locals who want to climb without having to hunt for partners or navigate a Spanish-language gym on day one. The group covers indoor bouldering at gyms around Barcelona and trips out to the rock climbing crags scattered across Catalonia, so you're never stuck choosing between plastic and real stone.

New to climbing entirely? That's the normal starting point for a lot of people here โ€” you don't need your own shoes, harness or chalk bag to show up. Most bouldering gyms rent everything, so the only real requirement is a willingness to fall off a wall a few times while you find your footing, literally.

For anyone already climbing V4s or leading outdoors, the group is just as useful: it's a standing pool of English-speaking partners for gym sessions and weekend crag trips, without the faff of building that network from scratch in a new city.

Why join

๐Ÿง— Indoor and outdoor, both covered

Bouldering walls around Barcelona for after-work sessions, plus trips to outdoor crags across Catalonia when the group organises them.

๐ŸŽ’ No gear needed to start

Rental shoes and gear are available at most bouldering gyms, so you can turn up empty-handed the first few times.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ English-speaking climbing partners

Finding belay or bouldering partners is hard enough without a language barrier โ€” this group solves that part.

๐Ÿ“ˆ First-timers to seasoned climbers

Both โ€” the group covers indoor bouldering at city gyms and trips out to real rock at crags around Catalonia when they're organised.

I've never climbed before, is that a problem?

Not at all. A good number of people in the group started with zero experience โ€” gym staff and other members will help you get going.
