Keep Calm activities are physical, and you take part at your own risk. This disclaimer sits alongside the fuller Safety & Liability policy.
You are responsible for assessing your own fitness
- Be honest with yourself about your physical condition before signing up.
- Consider any injuries, illnesses, or health conditions that the activity might affect.
- If you have any doubt about whether an activity is safe for you, consult a doctor first.
- Choose a level, pace, and distance that suit you, not the one you wish you were at.
We are not medical professionals
Keep Calm is volunteer-run. Organisers are not doctors, physiotherapists, or qualified first-aiders, and we do not assess or verify anyone's health or fitness. We cannot give medical advice, and nothing in our materials should be treated as medical advice.
Declaring conditions
You are not required to disclose medical information to take part, and any information you do share is handled under Data & Privacy. However, for higher-risk activities such as hikes or trips, telling the organiser about a relevant condition (for example asthma, a heart condition, or a serious allergy) helps everyone respond well if something goes wrong. This is your choice.
During an activity
- Warm up before you start.
- Stay hydrated and take breaks when you need them.
- Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, chest tightness, or are unusually short of breath.
- Do not push through an injury. Sitting one out is always the right call.
Pregnancy, recovery, and returning from injury
If you are pregnant, recovering from illness or surgery, or returning after an injury, please take extra care and seek your own medical guidance about what is safe. You know your body best.
