How money works at Keep Calm. The short version: we are not-for-profit, you only pay to cover real costs, and if you commit to a paid spot you are responsible for your share.
For sign-up timing, strikes, and the mechanics of cancelling a place, see Event Rules.
We are not-for-profit
- There is no membership fee.
- Keep Calm does not take a cut. Anything you pay goes to the venue, the court, the equipment, or the partner running the session.
- Most activities are free or just a few euros.
How payment works
It depends on the activity:
- Split venue or court cost (for example padel, tennis, football): the cost of the booking is divided between the players who take part. Your share is posted with the session.
- Per-person fee (for example badminton): a fixed amount per person, paid to the host on the day.
- Through a partner or app (for example Vaya for football, Playtomic for padel and tennis): you sign up and pay your share through their platform, under their terms.
- Ticketed or paid socials: any cost is stated on the event, and may be paid to the venue or organiser in advance.
Always check the specific session post for who to pay, how much, and how.
Confirming a place is a commitment
Paid sessions are booked and paid for in advance based on who signed up. So:
- Only confirm a spot if you intend to come.
- If you confirm and then drop out late, you may still owe your share, because the booking is already paid for whether or not you turn up.
- The fairest fix is to find someone to take your place. Post in the group as early as you can.
Refunds
- If you cancel late on a session that is already booked, your share is generally non-refundable unless someone takes your place.
- If Keep Calm cancels a session before it is booked and paid, you owe nothing.
- If a session is cancelled after booking (for example bad weather), any refund depends on the venue's or partner's policy. We will tell you what applies.
- For paid socials and trips, the refund terms for that specific event will be stated when you sign up.
Payment methods
Depending on the activity and host, payment may be by cash (bring the exact amount where asked), Bizum, bank transfer, or through a partner app. The session post will say.
Guests
If you bring a guest to a paid session, you are responsible for their share as well as your own. Guests must be 18 or over.
Questions or disputes
If you think you have been charged incorrectly, or you are unsure what you owe, contact the session organiser. If it is not resolved, see Complaints & Grievance Procedure.
